It's the place to get done the kind of stuff you just can't seem to do anywhere else — reconnect with your partner, finish that book, or do absolutely, blissfully, nothing at all. Carnival Jubilee has standard North American 110-volt outlets in its cabins, as well as plenty of USB ports. In my balcony room, I had three standard outlets and four USB lightning ports by the vanity. There was also a USB port (non-lightning) on either side of the bed, just below the reading lamp. Camp Ocean also has an interactive space wall, where astronauts lead kids on virtual expeditions, complete with a ceiling that lights up like the night sky to show the constellations.

Maybe we were partial to the music, but we did enjoy this party more than the White Party earlier in the week. After dinner, it was time to enjoy more of the comedy available around the ship. First, we attended another DJ Cooch set in the Punchliner comedy club, which was funnier than his PG version we saw earlier in the week. Going close to an hour beyond the scheduled time, we made it back to the ship just in time for all aboard.

Also scheduled are events that will allow you to make your own fish, which can be seen swimming by on the screens. And, throughout each sailing, passengers will have at least one chance to see the screens pulsating along, synthesizer style, to music that will play in the Currents corridor. At the end of the hall, you'll find a promenade area with Carnival's new bar, Dr.Inks, Ph.D. Derived from the word "drinks," the name of the bar is also the name of its cartoon mascot. She has pet butterflies that she keeps in a fishbowl, a jellyfish lava lamp and an extensive collection of eyeglasses in all colors and shapes. She'll show up occasionally on the LED screens that make up the fake windows lining the promenade.

Alcohol-free drinks in plastic and glass bottles aren't allowed. Note that it is important that the name on your reservation be exactly as it is stated on your passport or other official proof of nationality. All this said, we recommend checking Carnival's website before sailing for up-to-date requirements. If you show up during "Soundwaves Jukebox," you'll see synthesizer-like graphics pulsating to the music on the giant screens above the space.
Such partners include Princess Cruises and Holland America Line, whose ships boast seafood eatery Rudi's Sel de Mer. Parents are allowed to visit ports while kids are in the clubs, but in some cases, the babysitting fee applies. A kids-only lunch is offered on those days for kids of a certain age. Preregistered for Camp Ocean ahead of the voyage is encouraged, as all kids at the clubs must be registered. Carnival Jubilee’s Cloud 9 Spa is located on decks 5 and 6 – the entrance is on Deck 6, while the ship’s thermal spa and treatment rooms are found below.

While the Limelight Lounge is used as the nightclub serving up tunes late into the evening. Not to mention, guests can settle into a lounge chair on the Lido deck for Dive-In Movies complete with popcorn. There are a number of pools and hot tubs around the ship as well. These include in the adults-only Serenity Retreat on deck 18 forward, on deck 16 midship and aft, and on deck 8 aft.

Though, it was 60 minutes in and we were still waiting when the food and beverage director came over to us and made sure we were sat. Our Behind the Scenes Tour was led by Vivek, the ship’s Food and Beverage Director. For approximately 90 minutes, he guided us through the Galley, Chef’s Table, food storage facilities, and down I-95 to see some of the other ship operations. It’s always impressive to see the inner-workings of cruise ships.
Carnival Corporation is set to release Q3 financials on Friday, September 29. We expect to hear about the operator’s successful return to service and would be surprised if the call didn’t include a Carnival Jubilee update. To celebrate the booking, and our inaugural voyage on the Carnival Jubilee, we set out to learn everything we could about the original ship she was named after. As a result, the inaugural transatlantic sailing, along with five additional Caribbean sailings from Galveston, were all canceled. The shipbuilder provided a new delivery date of early December 2023.

A few other forms of identification, such as a passport card, also are acceptable. At the time of publication, prices started from $709 per person ($101 per person per night) for an inside cabin or $919 per person ($131 per person per night) for balcony accommodations. Another excellent show is "Rio Carnival," which occurs at Center Stage in the Grand Central zone instead of the main theater. Although the first half felt a bit shaky and slightly boring to me, the second half redeemed it all, featuring a parade of dancers and aerialists dressed in flamboyant costumes synonymous with Rio de Janeiro's Carnival. There's also a hot tub at Loft 19 on Deck 19, which charges a fee for access. Back inside, Deck 6's Piano Bar is where passengers can order a tipple while an onboard pianist tickles the ivories.
Deck 17 midship is where you’ll find the second floor of the two-story RedFrog Tiki Bar, just above the Beach Pool and near Guy’s Burger Joint. The venue serves a variety of rum and rum-based cocktails, as well as a selection of Carnival’s own branded beers. On deck 16 is the first story of the RedFrog Tiki Bar as well as the aft Tides Pool Bar located just outside the Lido Marketplace buffet. On that menu, you'll find more smoke bubbles, as well as whimsical ingredients like Pop Rocks. I also started each day with a coffee from the JavaBlue cafe in the Grand Central zone. Carnival has come a long way since the days when its staterooms were colored like cotton candy.
Combining noise with the annoyance of hawking alcohol, the roving waiters visited every table at Chibang! — the ship's hybrid Mexican-Asian restaurant — one night while I was having dinner there. Whenever somebody bought one, the waiter would demand that they yell "Shot, shot, shot!" before downing it. This was extremely disruptive and added to the already loud atmosphere. My cabin had some of the best soundproofing I've experienced on a new ship in a long time — I had balcony accommodations near an elevator bank and heard nothing when I was in my room.
In addition to tons of closet and drawer space, there were two TVs, a sizeable balcony and a ton of USB ports. Although Carnival has had onboard seafood options for years, this is a far cry from the pool deck's Seafood Shack (which recently sold me a mediocre crabcake). Instead, at Rudi's, you'll find a don't-miss lobster mac and cheese, plenty of meat and seafood selections, and crabcakes that are actually worth the price of admission. Sodamin's larger-than-life personality and whimsical "food faces" — funny visages made from plated food — have led him to partnerships with several brands in the Carnival Corporation portfolio.
Although it's often loud, busy and difficult to navigate, especially on sea days, it's a prime place to sit and people-watch. I found myself gravitating there repeatedly to enjoy coffee or a snack from the nearby JavaBlue Cafe while watching the cast from that night's show rehearse at Center Stage — something you can't usually do on other ships. Like the Vista-class Carnival liners, Jubilee has Havana staterooms with a patio (indoor-outdoor space) with direct access to an exclusive Sundeck area with loungers, Bar and swimming pool. Another Vista-class type of cabins are Family Harbor (clustered near Camp Ocean/kids club) and with direct access to the exclusive Family Harbor Lounge. Cloud 9 Spa staterooms traditionally offer exclusive amenities, including premium bathrobes and slippers and Elemis brand toiletries.
Loft 19 is also where you find the ship’s cabanas, available for rental at $500 a day. Cabanas hold up to five people, and come with on bottle of bubbly, fresh fruit and lunch service. We thought the price was a little on the steep side for what you get.
